This Christmas, the toy company is giving families a reason to put down their screens.
MANILA, November XX, 2025 – Remember Christmas before screens? Back when the season meant long days of decorating with family, waking up to the smell of Noche Buena favorites, and watching homes light up with colorful parols and Christmas lights. Before technology took over, Filipino Christmases were loud, warm, and full of tradition. Kids ran around the house, titos and titas laughed over stories, and families gathered eagerly for exchange gifts. And for many children, the biggest wish was unwrapping that one special toy – often a LEGO set that sparked hours of imagination and joy.
Today, many Christmases are quieter than they should be. Kids are glued to tablets, relatives scroll through messages under the table, and even parents can’t resist checking notifications.
This year, the LEGO Group is giving families an official excuse to step away from screens and bring back that loud, chaotic, and magical Christmas feeling. From December 22 to January 4, the LEGO Christmas Play Village will transform the SM Mall of Asia Main Atrium into a screen-free wonderland where loved ones can bond together just like the Christmas everyone remembers.
A holiday village built for imagination, not notifications
Walking into the Play Village feels like entering a larger-than-life Filipino Christmas home. Every corner invites families to play, discover, and create together. From the porch to the attic, there is something fun to explore at every turn.
Little wins like stacking towers or completing LEGO challenges bring out genuine smiles and a sense of achievement. Parents get to slow down and share the moments, mess, and all. And for those kids from the early 90s and 00s — now grown-ups but still kids at heart — LEGO bricks remain the perfect gift, a nostalgic reminder of the Christmas magic they grew up with.
